John Taylor Eastlick was born on April 28, 1912 in Norris, Mont. After attending Arizona Teachers College (A.B., 1934), he began working in the circulations department of the Denver Public Library (1939-1940) and received an M.A. in Library Science from the University of Denver (1940). Eastlick later served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II and became chief of the library division, Veterans Administration, Denver, Colo. (1946-1948).
